CME Article of the Month Southern Medical Association CME CREDIT

The Southern Medical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. Dizziness accounts for an estimated 7 million clinic visits in the United States each year, and it is a challenging symptom to evaluate and manage. Physicians in all specialties, especially those in primary care, have a crucial role to play in the evaluation and treatment of dizziness. After reading this article, physicians should be able to enumerate the common and uncommon causes of dizziness, to use this information to assist in formulating a differential diagnosis, and to implement a practical approach to provide optimal evaluation of the dizzy patient.
